Hellblade Studio Reportedly At Work On New Game, Not At Risk Of Shutdown

Hellblade developer Ninja Theory is reportedly working on a new game, and isn’t at risk of shutting down–like several of its sibling studios have at Microsoft.

According to Windows Central, the studio’s new game has already been greenlit and Microsoft isn’t considering closing the studio. Additionally, the new game is reportedly separate from Project Mara, which Ninja Theory revealed back in 2021. There aren’t any more details about this new game, such as whether it’s another entry in the Hellblade series or an entirely different IP.

Project Mara is billed as a psychological horror game that focuses on photorealism and takes place in one apartment. There is no release date for it yet.

Earlier this month, Microsoft shut down several of its studios, including Redfall de…

The first Standard-legal expansion of 2025 is coming to Magic: The Gathering soon with Aetherdrift, a set featuring high-speed races across multiple worlds in the MTG multiverse. How To Earn Strange Coins In Destiny 2- The Final Shape

Way back in the day, Xur, the Exotics vendor who only shows up in Destiny 2 on the weekends, required you to pay for his spiffy wares in a currency called Strange Coins. In Destiny 2, Strange Coins went away, only popping up later as part of the Dares of Eternity activity. With the currency changes that came with The Final Shape, you’ll start finding Strange Coins in your pocket again, and you’ll need them to buy stuff from Xur again.

The thing is, it’s not immediately clear where you can get Strange Coins from in the game, as they’re no longer earned from Dares of Eternity or Paraversal Hauls. You’ll need a lot of them to buy stuff from Xur, as everything he sells, from Exotic weapons and armor to Legendary gear, requires Strange Coins. Here’s what we know abo…

The US Government Wants To Hear Your In-Game Currency Nightmare Stories

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is looking for feedback from players as it proposes a new rule revolving around in-game currencies and transactions that would allow the current Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), and the protections it grants to consumers, to apply to certain video game companies.

Historically, the EFTA has been used to protect consumers from unauthorized transactions and requires financial institutions to fix errors and investigate and correct illicit transactions. The CFPB wants some of those same rules to apply to game companies whose products resemble “consumer asset accounts” that allow for converting in-game currency or goods into real money.

Under that interpretation, new regulations would apply to games like Roblo…

Xbox Is Trying To Save The Planet With This New Product

Microsoft’s new translucent Sky Cipher Xbox controller comes in a new type of packaging that aims to cut down on Microsoft’s overall carbon footprint.

The packaging for the controller features no single-use plastics like other Xbox controllers have, while the paper manual inside the packaging is gone, replaced with a QR code for a digital guide. Overall, the packaging is 22% smaller and 21% lighter, which further reduces the environmental footprint, Microsoft said.

Microsoft has not released any images of the new packaging, but that should become clear soon, as the controller releases on August 13 for $70.

In 2020, Microsoft said it was aiming to be “carbon negative” by 2030, and by 2050, the company said it was hoping to remove all the carbon it created sinc…
